BUILD HER All-girl Summer Camps

Register now for 2024!

For a deposit of $165, you can reserve your daughter's spot for next summer, including before and aftercare. Registration is $500 with the remainder due on April 1, 2024. BUILD HER camps are in-person for rising 2nd through 8th graders and will take place in Bexley, Ohio.

For rising 2nd through 5th graders

One-week of fun-filled exploration of computer science. In creative, play-oriented activities, campers will program animated characters, build cardboard automatons, explore multiple robotics platforms, and more! In our BUILD (Bravery, Understanding, Imagination, Leadership, and Determination) curriculum, we help girls cultivate problem solving skills and increase their confidence both in and out of the classroom.

Before and aftercare will be available from 7:30am – 9:00am and from 3:30pm to 5:30pm at no extra cost, provided you sign up for it when you register.

For rising 6th through 8th graders

A one-week program of fun-filled exploration of computer science. You may choose between half-day and full-day options. In both options, your daughter will be challenged in computational thinking to decompose problems, recognize patterns, understand abstract concepts, and more! In our BUILD (Bravery, Understanding, Imagination, Leadership, and Determination) curriculum, we help girls cultivate problem solving skills and increase their confidence both in and out of the classroom. In the full-day option, girls reinforce their learning, show mastery, and develop leadership skills by serving as mentors to younger students in our elementary camp.

  • Half day: 9am to 12pm M-F for $250
  • Full day: 9am to 3:30pm M-F for $500

You can use Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express for secure online registration on our platform. However, we do not accept e-check as a payment method.

To secure a spot for your camper, we require a non-refundable deposit of 33% per session.

If you register before April 1st, you have two options at checkout:

  • Pay the full balance for the camp.
  • Pay a 33% deposit per session.

On April 1st, the remaining tuition balance will automatically be charged to the same credit card you used during the initial registration.

For registrations made after April 1st, the only available option at checkout is to pay the full balance upfront.

Please keep in mind that after April 1st, HER Academy reserves the right to charge any outstanding balances to the credit card on file.

Any discounts, registrations, or credits cannot be transferred to another individual unless the recipient is a sibling. In other words, only siblings can share these benefits; others cannot transfer or use them.

If HER Academy cancels a program, regardless of the reason, you will receive a full refund, including the deposit you made during registration.

HER Academy reserves the right to cancel any program at any time. In the past, we have canceled programs only in two situations:

  • when enrollment was extremely low,
  • or when the camp location or environment posed safety concerns.

Cancellation by the Camp Family:
If you decide to cancel a camp session after registering, please note that the per-session, non-refundable deposit collected during registration will not be refunded.

If You Cancel Camp BEFORE April 1, 2024:

  • If you paid only the per-session deposit, this deposit is non-refundable, and you forfeit it upon canceling the camp.
  • If you paid in full at the time of registration, HER Academy will refund your full tuition amount, except for the 33% deposit per enrolled session, which was included in your initial payment.

If You Cancel Camp AFTER April 1:
HER Academy does not provide any refunds for cancellations made after April 1. The entire payment made after this date is non-refundable.

If you cancel your camp session at least TWO WEEKS (14 days) before the program’s start date, you have the following options:

  • Transfer your camp session to another date or transfer it to a sibling (subject to availability). Note that transfers are not possible if you cancel within the two-week period or request a transfer to a sold-out program.
  • Elect to take a full credit for the next calendar year, but this option is available only if you email us at least TWO WEEKS before the program’s start date.

Please be aware that canceling within the two-week period will result in the cancellation of your registration without any refund or future credit.

If You Do Not Show Up At Camp:

Participants who do not attend their registered session or do not contact HER Academy at least two weeks in advance for a cancellation and transfer request will not receive a refund.

Transfer To Another Session Date:
If you email us at least two weeks in advance of the camp start date and request to change the session date your camper is enrolled in, we may consider transferring them to another session if there is available space. However, we cannot guarantee that your request will be fulfilled, as it depends on the availability of slots in the desired session.

If you enroll in a camp that is already sold out, you will be placed on the waitlist.

What happens after being placed on the waitlist:

  • If a slot becomes available in the program you registered for, we will fill it based on the order of families joining the waitlist (from earliest to latest date of joining).
  • We will contact you immediately if a slot opens up.
  • If you fail to respond within the specified period as communicated in our phone call, voicemail, or email, we will move on to the next family on the waitlist.

Waitlist Closure:

The waitlist will be closed 10 days before the start date of the program you are waitlisted for. If there is no space available for the week you selected, you will be informed, and no camper from the waitlist will be able to transition to a registration/camp slot.

If you wish to remove yourself from the waitlist, please send an email, and we will take care of it.

*To manage cancellations, transfers, or waitlist enrollment, please email info@theheracademy.org. We do not accept such requests over the phone or in person at the camp location for record-keeping purposes. Include your full name, participant’s name, registered camp(s), and the requested camp dates in your email.
